Mountain Bike Uplift Terms & Conditions

Operations

  • The Ben Lomond Trails (bike park) are not owned or operated by Skyline Queenstown. It’s a feature of the Ben Lomond Recreation Reserve (which is managed by Queenstown Lakes District Council). The bike park is available for public use and can be accessed from multiple locations within the reserve. Skyline Queenstown simply provides customers with a Gondola assisted uplift service to the Skyline Queenstown Top Terminal.
  • Skyline Queenstown does not patrol the Queenstown bike park.
  • Skyline Queenstown reserves the right to close, suspend, or change, Gondola services and/or bike carriage, operating times, or refuse people entry, at its own discretion.
  • Gondola service and/or bike carriage is likely to be stopped or suspended by Skyline Queenstown whenever the Ben Lomond Recreation Reserve is closed by QLDC (due to high fire risk, heavy rainfall or other unforeseen circumstances).

Passes

  • All ‘MTB Uplift products entitles the pass owner (along with one bike) to Skyline’s Gondola Uplift Service.
  • The Skyline Queenstown ‘MTB Uplift Pass must be presented to Skyline Queenstown staff to validate the passholders benefits (basically, no pass = no Gondola ride).
  • Skyline Queenstown reserves the right to review passholder benefits and prices.
  • Skyline Queenstown ‘MTB Uplift Passes’ are non-refundable and non-transferable. The only exclusions to this rule apply to pass holders who also purchased the Skyline MTB Uplift Pass Cover (detailed below).
  • MTB Uplift Season Passes purchased via the Instalment option are non-refundable from the date of the first payment.
    • 3 equal amount instalments, MTB Uplift Pass can only be collected after full payment is made
    • $21 Admin Fee split equally across all instalments
    • $30 late payment fee for every payment not made in time
  • All lost passes will incur a replacement fee of $10.
  • Unauthorised use of a Skyline Queenstown ‘MTB Uplift Pass’ will result in the immediate revocation of the pass and may result in prosecution.
  • MTB Uplift Passes are valid only for the season in which they were purchased and expire at the end of that season. Passes are non-transferable and non-refundable except as required by law.
  • The Skyline Queenstown MTB Uplift Season Pass’ is valid for the duration of the season they are purchased within.
  • Skyline Queenstown ‘MTB Uplift Passes’ are not valid for commercial use.

Skyline MTB Uplift Pass Cover Policy

Pass Cover is your insurance policy for your Skyline MTB 50 Uplift, 100 Uplift and Season Uplift Pass in the event you sustain an injury or medical condition which prevents you from using your pass for the remaining current season.

A refund percentage is to be calculated based on the use of the pass, outlined in the table below:

  • Refunds only extend to the value of the pass type purchased and do not cover any additional associated expenses. The Pass Cover charge is additional to the value of the pass and will not be covered by any refund. Refunds will be made to the credit/debit card used to purchase the pass and the pass will be cancelled.
  • To apply for a refund please contact our team at [email protected]. You may be required to supply a doctor’s note as evidence to support the injury/medical claim.
  • Skyline Queenstown reserves the right to obtain independent advice to validate any claim.
  • Refund applications will only be considered during the current season the pass is eligible for. Any applications submitted after April 23rd of the current season will not be processed.
  • Pass Cover can only be added when initially buying the 50 Uplift, 100 Uplift and Season Pass and cannot be added later. Pass cover is only available for 50 Uplift, 100 Uplift and Season Uplift passes.
  • Refunds will be made in New Zealand Dollars. If you paid by a credit card denominated in a foreign currency, the refund amount in your foreign currency may differ from what you were originally charged due to changes in foreign exchange rates, non-refundable or additional bank or credit card charges, or other factors. Skyline Queenstown will accept no liability for any loss that may be suffered due to these factors in relation to the amount refunded.

Equipment

  • Bikes must be fully assembled and safe to transport.
  • Wheels must be securely fastened to the bike frame prior to loading the Gondola.
  • Skyline Queenstown takes no responsibility for bikes during carriage.

Safety

  • Skyline Queenstown reserves the right to refuse Gondola entry to any individual who clearly appears unsafe and/or presents obvious risks to themselves or others.
  • Skyline only provides a Gondola Uplift Service and does not take responsibility for personal injury or damage to property in the Ben Lomond Recreational Reserve.

Conduct

  • Riders must ensure cabins are kept clean (dry and free of mud, dirt or litter) for all other Gondola guests.
  • Under no circumstances should the cabin doors be forced open for ventilation; charges will apply for any repairs or maintenance required.

Mountain Bike Season & Monthly Parking Pass

This section governs eligibility, registration, usage, and the validity/expiration of MTB Parking Passes linked to MTB Uplift Passes (Season Uplift Pass, 100 MTB Uplifts, 50 MTB Uplift).

Eligibility

  • To apply for an MTB Monthly or Season Parking Pass, you must have purchased: MTB Season Uplift Pass, or 100 MTB Uplifts, or 50 MTB Uplifts.

Registration and Vehicle Registration

  • MTB Parking Passes may register up to two vehicles.
  • Only one vehicle at any given time will be granted MTB Parking Pass privileges within the carpark.
  • A vehicle registration number can be registered to only one person. If a vehicle is shared, it must be registered to one MTB Parking Pass customer.

Usage and Restrictions

  • MTB Parking Passes are to be used on days when the pass holder is scheduled to visit the Ben Lomond Reserve.
  • All standard carpark terms and conditions apply, except:
  • There are no parking privileges within EV (electric vehicle) spaces when using the MTB Parking Pass.

Validity & Expiration

  • The validity of the MTB Season Parking Pass will be the entirety of the MTB season as set by Skyline Queenstown.
  • The validity of the MTB Monthly Parking Pass will be valid for 31 days from the date of confirmation of parking privileges by Skyline Queenstown Carpark Management, and this confirmation will occur within 72 hours of purchase. Prior to expiry, the pass holder will receive a notification indicating that expiry is imminent and will be offered an option to extend for a further 31 days if required. If not extended, parking privileges will be deactivated on the 32nd day.

End of Season

  • At the close of the season, all MTB Parking Passes will have their parking privileges deactivated.
